This directory contains netCDF files for the global ocean marine carbonate system at an 8-daily by 0.25deg resolution.
This version is a release version and is no longer in beta.
However, that does not mean we wont create another release if we
discover something suspicious. Any updates from now on will be
consistent with the naming and increase the version number
v2023.XX
.
The folder structure is
./<variable>/<year>/<single_netcdf_for_each_time_step>.nc
.
You can see all the variables on the HTTPS server – includes
temperature and salinity. The data runs from 1982 to the end of
2022 with 46 time steps for each year. The size for each
variable (1982-2022) is between 2.5 and 3.5 GB.
Each netCDF contains only one variable. The metadata also has a start and end time as well as min/max lat/lon. The information about the settings used in PyCO2SYS is also included in each file’s metadata.
The folder _EVALUATION contains some plots and CSVs of the comparison with GLODAP2023. - ALK has an open ocean RMSD of 17.98 umol kg-1 and bias of 0.93 umol kg-1. Regionally, also quite good (except for ICE biomes) - DIC has an open ocean RMSD of 17.23 umol kg-1 and bias of 0.06 umol kg-1. Though regionally, suffers a lot more.
